As I contemplate spending money on feeding the birds this winter; niger seed, peanuts, fat balls and the like, I stop to wonder… and remember this superb photo taken by my lovely daughter Abi of our garden bird table, and a less than welcome visitor!

I’ve forwarded a copy to the RSPB regional office as I thought it might be useful in future advertising of the Big Garden Birdwatch
In winter of 2010 we couldn’t understand how these birds can eat even skin from the fat. The answer was found soon
